Art and Props

꩜ Art and Props, 2024-ongoing, are a one-woman commercial fine art shop as an interactive artwork which imitates the North Jutland farm shop in a distorted version rooted in paganism, occult science, peasant culture, and the use and gathering of materials. Under the overall title Art and Props are several series which have its own “capital body” – The art series is Capitalistic Catcalling Cannibalism, CAPITALISTIC CAT WOOL WOOL, the collaborative art serie Female Ancestor Power, the hybrid art and props serie Wearable Capital Pop, and the props series Materials and Kiosk.

The project is forced capitalism to fight capitalism, by the capital exists in a physical art form that you can actually afford. Addressing the economy problem (to own, to buy, to earn) for the young generation, but also work conditions for visual artists, where visual artists even can’t afford their own artworks, and the conflicted choice of words of commercial and fine art.

The products investigate the consumer and the product, as well as the viewer and the artwork. How the user using the purchased product as an artistic act and/or having the product display in the home as a sculptural object. The products are commodities as much as they are artworks – interactive sensory and therapeutic artistic products. You can therefore experience the products to be referred to as products, artistic products, items, sculptural objects, goods etc. The products are what you want it to be though interacting with it.
Primarily all materials are gathered or bought in North Jutland, Denmark - in the forest, on the heath and in the countryside, or gifted, found or thrifted, recycled and upcycled. Unlimited art and props mass-produced by hand and a DIY soul to maintain a sustainable production. The using of nature, animal and artificial materials is taken into consideration. The natural materials are wild harvest, own or friends/family’s harvest or brought locally. The animal materials are gathered naturally from living animals, from pets or farm animals from local small farmers who don’t have animals for distribution, but as pets or free ranging. Here is an interest of the difference between country and city, how agricultural trends can be channeled to the city – like the farmer who shearing as well as the city dweller brushes the cat and using the fur. The artificial materials such as packaging with plastic bags and/or plastic labels is recommended to use afterwards, so it isn’t a one-use plastic items, use plastic bags for storage, labels for wall decoration (the labels are made so you can cut the top and bottom, so you only have the image left), other artificial materials can be used for many years. Packaging as paper bags and/or paper labels bags can also be used again for storage or written notes.

Buy it direct from me by sending a mail of which products you want to buy or visit my Etsy shop (supporting PWYW, so feel free to ask for price-cutting). Shipping worldwide with tracking, but no refunds, or pick up in Nørrebro, Copenhagen, Denmark.

The business model is prepared in collaboration with ChatGPT, while the labels’ images and images are generated using Midjourney with post-editing in Photoshop and Illustrator. This, as an active choice, means that the working time is minimized as best as possible for keeping the prices as low as possible without compromising the yield.
